Somalia: Majeerteen Politicians Signed A
Devil's Treaty With Ethiopia & USA
Khamiis,Sept,21,2006 London,UK,(Radio Hobyo) History records very clearly and vividly the mischievous nature
of the Majeerteen politicians regarding
national sovereignty,
economic distribution, power sharing and
social cohesion.
In Southern Somalia it was the Majeerteen
traditional leaders
whom the majeerteen know as ( kings, sultans
etc ) who
spearheaded Italian colonialism and the
Majeerteen leaders
acted as the eyes and ears of the cruel
Italian colonialism in
Southern Somalia which lasted nearly 100
years. In the
1950s, Majeerteen politicians sided with
Italy and argued
that Somalia could not take independence as
planned on
July first 1960 and proposed that
independence should be
postponed until 1980.
The main reason why the Majeerteen
politicians were
doing that was because they were in a very
weak
political position compared with the powerful
political
position occupied by the Hawiye politicians
led at that
time by Abdullahi Isse and aden Abdulle Osman.
In about 1919-1920, Sayad Mohamed Abdulle
Hassan
wanted to take refuge in the Majeerteen
enclave of
Boosaaso after the English and Italian
colonial forces
united to annihilate the Derwish forces led
by sayad
Mohamed.
Then Sayad Mohamed contacted Boqor
Osman who was the Majeerteen traditional
ruler at the
time asking him to allow him and his forces
to come to
Boosaaso. King Osman accepted the request
from
Sayad Mohamed to come to the Majeerteen land
but
Boqor Osman had other planes in mind and by
the
time Sayad Mohamed and his Derwish forces
entered
Majeerteen territory, Boqor Osman forces
massacred
the Derwish forces of Sayad Mohamed, With
disbelief
and great disappointment, Sayad Mohamed
penned
down the well known poem (Jiinley) in which
he lamented
the treachery and heartlessness of Boqor
Osman and
his tribe against his nationalistic Derwish
forces.
From 1960 to 1969, Majeerteen politicians
dominated
Somalia politics with an incredible
selfishness, corruption,
tribalism and nomadic arrogance. Gen. Siyad
Barre over
threw the Majeerteen hegemony in Somali
politics and
remained in the saddle of power for over 20
years.
In 1978, Majeerteen military officers led by
Col. Abdullahi
Yusuf Ahmed attempted to overthrow Gen. Barre
but was
hastily foiled with the result of many
executions and
oppressions against innocent Majeerteen
civilians. Col.
Abdullahi Yusuf defected from the Somali
national army
and begged Mangiest Halie Mariam of Ethiopia
to give
him political Asylum and the rest is history.
In the 21 century, we have Col. Abdullahi
Yusuf Ahmed,
Col. Adde Muse Hersi and other Majeerteen
politicians
who have signed a devil's pact with Ethiopia
and the USA
in order to dismember Somalia along tribal
fiefdoms and
in their favour. Col. Adde Muse Hersi has
allowed Ethiopia
to establish military basis in Puntland and
the divided city
of Gaalkacyo. There are thousands of
Ethiopian troops
who are currently in Puntland and Gaalkacyo.
The Sa'ad
town of Bandiiradley are occupied by
Ethiopian and
Majeerteen troops.
There are also reliable reports and proofs
that the USA
is going to establish military and
intelligence basis in
Puntland and western Gaalkacyo after entering
mutual
agreement with Abdullahi Yusuf and Adde Muse.
The US
is said to be unhappy with the political
position taken by
the president of Djibouti Ismail Omar Ghelle
on Somalia.
In conclusion, the Majeerteen politicians
policy and strategy
on Somalia is extremely dangerous,
destructive, unpatriotic,
selfish and unacceptable. We know Ethiopia
and its allies
do not want Somalia to regain its unity,
statehood and
communal harmony and the Majeerteen
politicians are
the under dogs and servants of Ethiopia and
its allies to
break the backbone of Somalia's sovereignty
and unity.
It is a well documented historical fact that
Majeerteen
politicians do not care about Somalia's
honour, unity,
independence and communal cohesion as long as
they
get what they love most which is power power
power !!
In 1992, it was mainly the Majeerteen
politicians and
intellectuals who persuaded the UN Secretary
General
Butros Butros Ghali and the USA to invade
Somalia and
fight with the forces led by General Aideed.
What happened
as a result of that illegal and ill-thought
out invasion has
been recorded in the golden pages of history
and
Somali's misery and quagmire still continues
with no end
insight.
Now Col. Abdullahi Yusuf and Adde Muse want
Ethiopia
and its allies to overtake Somalia at a time
when life and
stability is improving all over Somalia and
the capital of
Somalia Mogadishu has entered a new era of
peace and
development on all sectors. So why Majeerteen
politicians
are calling for foreign troops to overrun or
swam Somalia?
I would strongly urge the Union of Islamic
Courts to mobilise
the Somali masses to defend the country from
Boosaaso to
Kismayo, abrogate the alien concept of
federalism and
restore the honour and sovereignty of the
Somali
Republic.
Somalia does not need mercenary foreign
troops.
